For clarification...
Many people, upon seeing my teaser trailer, asked why my storyline was so explicit/why the audience are told about 'Claudia's identity as soon as we see her. Because I was creating a bricolage of a psychological horror with elements of crime, I decided to make it so that the audience have inside knowledge, yet are unsure as to whether or not the authorities find and help both 'Ellie' and 'Claudia.'
In some ways, I believe this is risky, because many potential audience members may see the teaser trailer and believe that they have practically already seen the film, however, I did not wish to give away any twists in the narrative, instead opting to keep the trailer as simple as possible. I wished to subvert the audience's ideas, in that they may enter the cinema with low expectations, yet leave with the realisation that there's more than meets the eye to 'Aberration.'
